 | Descendants of the patriarch of the Simonin (Symonin) line (born circa 1490) This Simonin (Symonin) ancestor is possibly the 12th great grandfather of Jeff Vitter, co-host of this website vitter.org. He and descendants lived in Vaudrivillers in the Doubs department of Franche-Comté, France. We say "possibly" the 12th great grandfather because it's not clear if Claude Pierre Thouret (born 1697) is the son of Pierre Thouret and Marguerite Simonin or of Pierre Thouret and Anna Marie Pegeot. The actual records have not yet been digitized for much of the Doubs department. Many have been transcribed, but final resolution will of this question will likely require examination of the actual records themselves. If Claude Pierre Thouret is the son of Pierre Thouret and Anna Marie Pegeot, then the relationship of the Simonin patriarch to Jeff Vitter instead becomes 4th great grandfather of Julienne Courgey, who is the wife of Jeff's 7th great uncle Gilles Thiébaud.
