Jonte, Second Justice of the Peace for the Parish of Orleans, Personally Appeared, Christian Hanson and Herman Soltsien, who being duly sworn, did depose and say that they are well acquainted with Henry Riecke and Mrs. Mary Stephen who apply for Marriage License and know them to be above the age of twenty-one years. Sworn to, and subscribed before me, New Orleans, February. 8th, 1853, C. V. Jonte Second Justice. Of the Peace, for the Parish of Orleans. Also signed by: Herman Soltsien and Christian Hanson x his mark.

      The State of Louisiana. Parish of Orleans, City of New Orleans. Be it Remembered, That Henry Riecke as Principal and Herman Soltsien as Surety, acknowledges themselves indebted unto the State of Louisiana, in the sum of Three hundred dollars. Whereas, the above bounded Henry Riecke has applied to Charles V. Jonte, Second Justice of the Peace for the Parish of Orleans, and has obtained from him a License to Marry Mrs. Mary Stephen. Now the Condition of the above Obligation is such. That in case within two years from this date it should not appear that there existed at the time of granting such License, any legal impediment to said Marriage, then and in such case the above Obligation shall be null and void, or else it shall remain in full force and virtue. Done and Signed, at the City of New Orleans, this 8th day of February 1853. Signed in the presence of: Henry Riecke, Herman Soltsien and C. V. Jonte.
