    • Obituary: Benjamin Franklin Coburn:
      Benjamin Franklin Coburn, 65, died suddenly at his home in Hillsdale December 18, 1959. His death caused by a heart attack, suffered that morning. He was found at noon by Mrs. Coburn when she returned from the general store which they have operated in Hillsdale many years. He had suffered from heart trouble about 14 months. Frank Coburn was born September 18, 1894, at Stuttgart, Ark., son of the late B. F. and Sophia Coburn. He came to Miami County in 1900.

      On February 15, 1915, he was married to Minnie Bendorf and they made their home at Hillsdale. He was a member of and active in the Hillsdale Presbyterian Church, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, and was affiliated withe the Masonic Lodge. Before buying the store he farmed and was employed at the Hillsdale elevator. Throughout his life he was interested in community betterment and worked in civic activities.

      Surviving are his wife of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Beets of Olathe and Mrs. Helen Roberta Mott of Hillsdale, and four grandchildren, Betty Maxine and Vernon Beets, Cameron and Richelle Mott. Mrs. Ruth Coburn of Hillsdale is a sister-in-law. The funeral was held at the Wilson & Son Chapel at 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Rev. Phil B. Wahl, pastor of Grand Avenue Temple , Kansas City, officiated. Floyd Hedberg sang the hymns, accompanied by Mrs. Hedberg. Pallbearers were Charles Kelly, Gil Adams, Harry Watson, Ralph Barker, Willard Elrod and Frank Degrick. Interment was in the Hillsdale Cemetery.
