- Obituary: Eddie Morgan: Eddie Morgan, well known farmer residing in the Virginia community, passed away suddenly Friday January 5, 1951 at his farm home. His passing came as a severe shock to his family and friends. Mr. Morgan, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Morgan, was born March12, 1904 near Louisburg, Kansas. He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Obermeier of the Louisburg community on February 11, 1925. Surviving are the wife, Mrs. Mary Morgan of the home; two sons Raymond and Eddie of Kansas City; three sisters, Mrs. Flossie Richardson, of St. Paul, Kansas; Mrs. Ed Obermeier, Osawatomie, Kansas and Mrs. Ellis Witter of Overland Park, Kansas; two brothers, Paul Morgan and Harry Morgan, Paola, Kansas, also a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives. Mr. Morgan had lived in the Amoret and Virginia communties the past several years and had moved to the present farm six years ago. Funeral services were held at 1:30 o'clock Sunday, January 7, at the Methodist Church in Virginia with Mrs. Margaret Barton of Amoret officiating. Mrs. Nellie Barton and Miss. Phyllis Mitchell accompanied by Miss Etha Word, sang "The Old Rugged Cross", and "Beyond The Sunset." The Pallbearer were nephews of the Deceased: Glenn, Harry and Everett Obermeier, David Richardson. William Lehman and William Hambelton. Burial was made in Oak Hill Cemetery at Butler.
