Ralph Bilyeu Neely, 54 manager of the service department of the AJohn Deere Plow Co., died at 5:30 a.m. today at the Moline Public Hospital following an operation earlier in the week. His residence was at 1540 Eleventh Avenue, Moline. Funeral services willbe held at 3:00 p,m,. Monday at the Knox Trimble Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Honeywell officiating.
Mr Neely was born Sept. 11 1892, at Mulberry Grove, Ill., attented Mulberry Grove Schools and the Gem City Business College at Quincy. Following service in the World War I as a Marine sergeant, he ws employed by John M. Brant Co., of Bushnell, Ill., and a farmer for a period of two years at Park City, Mont.
He began service with John Deere Plow Co., on May 1,1928, as assistant salesman to H.M. Park, at that time salesman on the Waterloo Falls, Ia., territory. He was later made regular salesman of the area and from Feb 16, 1943, until Dec. 20 of that years was retail store supervisor of northeastern Iowa compay stores with headquarters in Iowa Falls. He was brought to the Moline office of the Plow Co., in December 1943 and promoted to service manager, which position he held until his dath.
Mr Neely married Miss Francis McCrary on August 119919. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Moline and a member of the Moline Consistory as a 32nd degree Mason.
Surviving are mhis wife; a daughter, Florence, who teaches at Winton-Salem, N.C.; two sons, Marion, a student at the University of Iowa, and Ralph Jr. at the home; two brothers, Paul F. Neely of Sorento,Ill., and George of Mulberry and a sister Mrs. Roxy Martin of Mulberry Grove.
