      Robert Stevens, age 83, of Independence, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020, at his home.
      Celebration of life services with military graveside rites will be held at Havana Cemetery, Havana, KS, at 11 AM, Thursday, March 26, 2020, with Pastor Gary Stevens officiating. Friends may register at Zach Webb Family Funeral Service on Wednesday from 10 AM to 5 PM. Memorial contributions to Harry Hynes Hospice may be sent to Zach Webb Family Funeral Service, 1475 S. 10th, Independence, KS 67301.
      Robert Louis Stevens was born January 10, 1937, in Coffeyville, KS, to Dorothy (Greene) and Paul Stevens. He grew up in the Coffeyville, Havana and Wayside area. He enlisted in the US Air Force from 1957-1962. He worked as a pipefitter in refineries across the area and retired from APTUS in 1002. He was a member of Pipefitter's Union #339. On September 26, 1958, he married Judith Leann Russell and she passed away in 2012.
      He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and quail hunt with his dogs. Robert was a family man that never met a stranger.
      Survivors of Robert Stevens include: Three children; Lori Ann Jay, Coffeyville, KS. Tony Stevens, Ponca City, OK. Michael Stevens, Caney, KS. Six grandchildren; Joe Mayo, Josh Mayo, Mandy Jay, Clint Jay, Dylan Stevens and Emma Stevens. Fifteen great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild on the way.
      He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters, Faye Turner and Kay Casner. Also, a great grandson, Anthony Mayo.
      The family of Robert Stevens has entrusted the arrangement of the services to Zach and Dee Webb of locally-owned Zach Webb Family Funeral Service of Independence.
