    1. [S1251] Find A Grave, Pierre Guidry.
Succ # 543 dated 19 Nov 1825 St Martinville Court House

"On this the 4th day of November 1825, I, Pierre Guidry, resident of the parish of St. Martin, native of the country of Acadia, legitimate son of Augustin Guidry and Jeanne Hebert, both deceased, under my ordinary mark and in the presence of witnesses, finding myself sick in bed but entirely of sound judgment, memory and understanding, fearing to be surprised by death in view of the uncertainty of life and wishing to put my temporal affairs in order, have dictated in a strong and audible voice to Sr. Pierre Labyche, a resident of this Parish, my last wishes as follows: As a Catholic, Apostolic and Roman, I desire to be buried in the Catholic Cemetery of this Parish and I direct my testamentary executor to have three masses said for the repose of my soul, since this is my wish. I declare that I was married by our holy mother church three times; first with Marguerite Dupuy, now deceased, by whom I had two children who died in infancy. Secondly, with Claire Babin, now deceased by whom I had the following children still living: Olivier Guidry; Joseph Guidry; Jean-Baptiste Guidry; Hypolite Guidry; and Augustin Guidry. I declare that we had another son named David, now deceased, who left several children. Thirdly, with Marguerite Miller, now deceased, by whom I had the following ten children still living: Marguerite Guidry; wife of Pierre Broussard; Louis Guidry; Charles Guidry; Anastasie Guidry, wife of David Rees; Antoine Guidry; Pierre Guidry; Celestine Guidry; wife of Ransom Eastin; Arthemise Guidry, wife of Dr. John H. Thomas; Rosemond Guidry; and Felonise Guidry. I declare also, as a matter of record, that I had by her two children named Victorin Guidry and Divine Guidry,
