      Obituary - "NELLIE" LOWN - March 1900 - Riley Centre
      ========================================
      Mrs. Samuel Lown, familiarly known as Aunt "Nellie", died at the home of
      her son Walter Lown, one mile south of Riley Centre on Thursday, March
      1st (1900) aged 86 years. Her maiden name was Eleanor Hyler (Hiler). She
      was born in Wayne Co. NY, May 11, 1813 and Married Samuel Lown in 1830.
      In 1847, she came with her husband to Michigan, settling in Riley
      Township, where she made her home for 53 years. She united with the Free
      Will Baptist Church in 1876 and has since been a member. She was the
      mother of 11 children, of whom four survive her, Mrs Geo. Arnold
      (Margaret Lown) and Walter Lown of Riley Centre, Jacob Lown of Memphis
      and Mrs Wm. Brown (Eleanor Lown) of Detroit. She leaves one brother, ten
      grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a large circle of friends.
      The funeral was held from the Baptist Church Sunday, conducted by Rev
      Carpenter.

      few days here on account of the death of Mrs Samuel Lown.

      of Detroit are spending a few days with friends here.
