[S1771] Kay Frances Sellers, with annotations by Sharon Weaver Vitter, Nicolay: A Preliminary Study of the Descendants of John Jacob Nicolay, (Name: Self-published; Location: Topeka, Kansas, USA; Date: 1987;), 146-page compilation (plus 20-page index) of the Nicolay family in Kansas, traced back to Bernard Nicolai/Nicolay (circa 1650–1705) in Germany. Individuals can be searched for in the pdf file. The individuals are labeled by their genealogical ordering (via the Henry or d'Aboville systems). An earlier 21-page list of family tree diagrams was published by Kay F. Sellers, entitled "Nicolay: A Preliminary Outline of the Descendants of John Jacob Nicolay," 1987. There are also newspaper clippings about members of the family in the 267-page compilation by Kay F. Sellers, entitled "Nicolay Newspaper Clippings: Weddings Obituaries, Miscellaneous," which is an appendix to this document. The page numbers in the index refer to the numbers printed on each page.       Maxine Elizabeth Martin, aka Liz and Maxine Perkins Maxine Elizabeth Martin, aka Liz and Maxine Perkins, entered eternal rest on October 9, 2013 in Peoria, AZ. She was born on December 12, 1925 in Topeka, KS to Kenneth and Mary Alice (Nicolay) Martin. In 1943, she graduated from Topeka High School. At the University of Kansas, she completed one year in Aeronautical Engineering before joining the work force during WWII. She was married on November 18, 1946 to James Conrad Perkins. They had two daughters, The Rev. Patsy Perkins Koeneke (Corpus Christi, TX) and Diane (Glen) Mills (Centennial, CO). Over the years, she worked at Meadow Acres, North American Aviation, the Topeka Army Supply Depot, Santa Fe Railroad, and Pfeiffer Pharmaceuticals, where she was the first woman awarded the Salesperson of the Year award in 1979. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; two sisters, Juanita Zinn and June Rice; an infant grandson, Steven Mills, and a nephew, Bruce Terry. She is survived by her daughters; grandchildren Brian Koeneke (Erica), Kelly Koeneke Munguia (Jerry), Jonathan Mills, and Mark Mills; 5 great-grandchildren; brother, Gene Martin; sister, Patricia Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her life will be celebrated at a graveside service at Paradise Memorial Gardens, Scottsdale, AZ on October 17 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer s Association or the American Diabetes Association.
