BALDWIN Norma Jean Bougere Baldwin, our beloved ""Hedy'', died at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 in Houston, TX following Hurricane Katrina evacuation. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, James McCall Baldwin. She is survived by their four children: Jean Baldwin Bolton, Lise Baldwin Montgomery, Susan Baldwin Gomila and James McCall Baldwin, Jr., together with their twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Bougere Wood; and was preceded in death by their sister, Jo Alice Bougere Andry. Hedy was born in New Orleans, LA on February 19th, 1924, the daughter of the late Carl and Norma Bougere. She was a descendent of Achille Dieuxdonne Bougere, the first occupant of San Francisco Plantation and builder of Star Plantation. She grew up in Covington, LA and later graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University, where she reigned as Homecoming Queen in 1944. She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of New Orleans. Hedy was a woman of rare beauty and a superb matriarch of the Baldwin clan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Anthony McGinn, S.J. at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 1st, 2005 at St. Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Road, Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Albert Baldwin Tomb within Metairie Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Baldwin's nine grandson: King Supple Bolton, Richard Bullard Montgomery IV, Jonathan Baldwin Montgomery, James Spencer Montgomery, John Nelson Stewart V, Scott Baldwin Stewart, James McCall Baldwin III, William Cuthbert Baldwin and Christopher Lee Baldwin. Memorial donations may be given to the charity of your choice. LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME is in charge of arrangements.

Moylan Feild Gomila, born in New Orleans, LA, passed away on April 24, 2014 at age 75. Feild is survived by his wife Susan Baldwin Gomila, two sons, Moylan Feild "Fritz" Gomila, Jr. (Gwathmey), Charles Rice Gomila, three stepchildren John Nelson Stewart, V (Emily), Caroline Stewart Milling (Michael) and Scott Baldwin Stewart (Tara) and ten grandchildren Feild, Evie, Hampton, Taylor, Caroline, John Nelson, Robert, Susu, Jack and Emma Grace. Feild was a lifelong cook who, in recent years, yielded his spatula to his second dining table, Houston's. He loved visiting the Grand Canyon, spending summers in La Jolla, CA, as well as hosting his favorite family gathering at his home on Christmas night. He was a graduate of Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, GA and earned a degree in Economics from Sewanee: The University of The South. He was a veteran of The U.S. Navy having served three years, ten months, nine days and several hours. He was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant. He was an Honorary Life member of The Louisiana Club and The Stratford Club where he served as President. He was a member of The New Orleans Country Club and several Carnival organizations. The family would like to offer special thanks to the Doctors and Staff of the Neurological Critical Care Unit of Ochsner Hospital. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 1329 Jackson Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70130 on Monday, April 28, 2014 at 12 Noon. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM. A private interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery.
