      MRF: GR (page 1). Originally of Huttwil, Canton Bern, Switzerland. Due to
      religious persecution he fled to Jebsheim (northeast of Colmar), Dept Haut
      Rhin, France, where he worked as a weaver. When expelled he settled near
      Frederick Fontaine and Etoben where he lived as a poor tenant farmer and
      miller, supplementing his income by making charcoal and carrying wood. Jean &
