He married Amelie REYNAUD in E. Baton Rouge, LA, November 3, 1866.
Amelie was born 1844.
Edgar was one of the early members of the Delta Rifles, formed at the beginning of the Civil War, and composed primarily of the well-to-do planters and planter's sons in the West Baton Rouge area; many went on to become ranking officers in the Confederate Army and political leaders in the State of Louisiana. Though he and Amalie had no children, they did make a home for two of Amalie's nieces, who always fondly remembered their happy times with their beloved "Ga and Tamelie", and being tutored by Eleanor McMain.
At the time, Colonel Dubroca was manager of a plantation on Bayou Fordoche in Iberville Parish, and the children shared in the family's interest in the crops, animals, and field hands.
Edgar's obit in the "Daily Picayune", dtd Aug. 14, 1889, states that he died in Jeanerrette, LA, at Susallor Plantation.
