Photos from Vitter Family Events, June 2006
Audrey (née St. Raymond) Vitter — known to her family as "Mimi" once her grandkids started arriving — passed away at age 84 in Atlanta on 8 October 2005. Her health had been declining since her husband A. L. "Père" Vitter Jr. died two years earlier. With the help of daughter Martha (Tootie), she evacuated from her home in New Orleans to Atlanta just before Hurricane Katrina flooded New Orleans in late August 2005. She passed away six weeks later.
It wasn't possible to bury her in New Orleans at that time because of the damage sustained from Katrina. The family had a funeral service for her in Atlanta on Saturday, 15 October 2005. In the following June, her body was brought back home to New Orleans for final burial next to A. L. And it was another occasion for the family to get together and celebrate her life, as well as host an engagement reception for Jeff's 1st cousin 1x removed LSU Tiger Jill Zimmermann and her Texas Aggie fiancé Chris Rider.

We wish Jill and Chris much happiness!
