DAROUSE, ALTHEA MARIE "MI MI"
Born Wednesday, Jan. 20, 1915, in Acy, she died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005. She
was 90, a resident of Hammond and a homemaker. Survived by her daughter,
Diane Darouse Pedeaux of Hammond; two granddaughters, Shawn Marie Pedeaux
of Hammond and Ashley Heard of Mandeville; three grandsons, Deven Pedeaux
and Clint Pedeaux, both of Hammond, and Richard W. Darouse III of Dallas;
12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death
by her husband, Richard "Dick" Darouse Sr.; parents, James Allen Cannon,
D.D.S., and Olivia Babin Cannon; son, Richard "Rick" Darouse Jr.; brother,
Krum Cannon; and sister, Ruth Nell St. Amant. Friends will be received
Monday, Dec. 19, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from
9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Greenlawn

DAROUSE, EDWIN BENEDICT
A former Hammond city councilman, mayor pro-tem and finance director for
the city of Hammond and former owner of Darouse Construction Co., he died
Saturday, May 5, 2001, at his residence in Hammond. He was 84 and a native
of Hammond. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Visitation at Harry
McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Hammond, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday.
Visitation in the funeral home chapel from 8 a.m. until religious services
at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery. Survived by his wife,
Frances Evelyn Hutchinson Darouse, Hammond; a daughter, Cherie Darouse
Stevens, Tangipahoa; a son-in-law, Wayne Stevens; a son, Denis Darouse,
Hammond; a daughter-in-law, Joni De Marco Darouse; two sisters, Dorothy
Hunt, Gulf Shores, Ala., and Ruthie Downs, Baton Rouge; three grandsons,
LaNell Edwin Calmes, Aaron Darouse and Seth Darouse; a granddaughter, Sarah
Darouse; and two stepgrandchildren, Jenni Meche and Johnny Meche. Preceded
in death by his parents, Arthur and Edith Lavigne Darouse; and four
brothers, Arthur "Sammy," Johnny, Tommy and Richard "Dick" Darouse. He was
a member of First United Methodist Church of Hammond and the VFW in
Hammond. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Volunteers
of America or Hospice of Baton Rouge.

DAROUSE, FRANCES EVELYN HUTCHINSON
A resident of Kentwood, she died at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at
North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. She was 92, born Oct. 20, 1918, in
Chesbrough. She was a former telephone operator, business partner with her
husband, and a loving homemaker. Visitation will be at Tangipahoa United
Methodist Church, Tangipahoa, from 9 a.m. until religious service at
11 a.m. Thursday, May 26, conducted by the Rev. Kevin Smith. Interment in
Greenlawn Cemetery, Hammond. Survived by her daughter, Cherie Darouse
Stevens and husband Wayne, Tangipahoa; son, Dennis Darouse and wife Joni,
Hammond; six grandchildren, Aaron Darouse, Seth Darouse, Lanell Darouse
and wife Wendy, Sarah Darouse, Johnny Meche and Jennie O'Neal; and four
great-grandchildren, Kaylie, Jonathan, Kaitlyn and Joleigh. Preceded in
death by her husband, Edwin B. Darouse; parents, Harvey Hutchinson Sr. and
Monte Sue Hyde Hutchinson; and brother, Harvey Hutchinson Jr. In lieu of

DAROUSE, FRANCIS LEE
A retired warehouse supervisor with the state Welfare Department, he passed
away Monday, Dec. 19, 2005, at his home in Baton Rouge. He was 89, a U.S.
Army veteran and a native of Hammond. Visiting was at Greenoaks Funeral
Home, 9595 Florida Blvd., on Tuesday, Dec. 20, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Visiting resumes Wednesday, Dec. 21, at the funeral home chapel from
10 a.m. until religious service at 2 p.m. He is survived by his wife of 35
years, Margaret Darouse; two daughters, Ann Gail Darouse and Frannette
Darouse Bryant, both of Baton Rouge; four sons, John Nathan Darouse and
wife Sandra of Smithdale, Miss., Alan Prescott Darouse and wife Joyce of
Lake Charles, and Shannon Lee Darouse and wife Linda and Joseph Kip Darouse
and wife Valerie, all of Albany; three stepchildren, Robert Wayne Racca and
wife Karen, Barry Racca and wife Donna, and Michael Dale Racca and wife
Patricia Ann, all of Denham Springs; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by his parents, sister and three brothers. He held the title of
Baton Rouge City Golf Champion in the early 1950s and still holds the
lowest round ever shot at Oak Knoll Country Club in Hammond.

DAROUSE, JAMES MICHAEL
Age 47, native of Ponchatoula and previous resident of Albany, Mike passed
away on Friday, April 30, 2010 in Hawaii. He was a 1981 graduate of
Ponchatoula High School and a parishioner of St. Margaret Catholic Church.
He was a teacher and coach at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School from
1999 - 2007, having coached football, baseball, golf and softball. MikeÕs
extensive military career gave him the opportunity to spend time in many
different regions, including Alaska, Missouri and Korea, as well as, Hawaii,
where he resided for the past two years. He served in the U.S. Air Force
from 1986-1994, and was a member of the Hawaii Air National Guard at the
time of his death. Mike had recently been promoted to Senior Master
Sergeant. Mike is survived by his son, Christopher Michael Murray of
Ponchatoula; daughter, Kelsi KaÕiulani Darouse of Hawaii; parents, James
and Shirley Darouse of Albany; brothers, Kevin Darouse and wife Stacy,
William Darouse, along with niece Rudi Darouse and nephew, Blake Elliott.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation
from the chapel of Brandon G. Thompson Funeral Home on Monday, May 10, 2010
from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 p.m.
The visitation will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 11, 2010
from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at St.
Margaret Catholic Church, in Albany, on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m.,
celebrated by Fr. Randy Cuevas. Interment will follow in St. Margaret
Catholic Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requests that
memorial donations be made in memory of James Michael Darouse to St. Thomas
Aquinas Catholic High School-Endowment Fund, 14520 Voss Drive Hammond, LA
