An obituary published in the Shelby County News Gazette for Josie Mae Bridges, 80, states that she had died in the St. Anthony Memorial Hospital in Effingham. She was born February 17, 1903 in Shelby County, the daughter of Clark and Zula Osborn. She married Roy Bridges in 1922 at Stewardson. Surviving were her husband, two sons, Donald and Bobby; two daughters, Ruth McMechan and Helen Standerfer; a brother, Henry Osborn; three sisters, Effie Groves, Retta Shuff and Goldie Seward; 16 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was a member of Ash Grove Christian Church, the Ash Grove Jolly Neighbors Club and the Shelby County Homemakers Extension Association. Burial was in Ash Grove Cemetery.
